Each guesthouse has its favourite clientele: some prefer sports clubs with energetic youths whilst others favour the more sedate pensioners’ travel groups. The culture and values of the guest house are often reflected in the guests themselves. You won’t just find nature lovers in the DACHSTEINHOF but also business people – apart from catering for tourists, the guest house also serves as a training centre for the Höchsmann GmbHcompany. For us, culture comes before commerce and meeting people is more important than the checking-in and -out of guests.
Stefan Höchsmann is the manager of Höchsmannn GmbH and the author of the German book Gegen den Strom der Gestressten(Stream up – Stress down). Additionally he works in the DACHSTEINHOF.
Helen Höchsmann is the owner’s wife, originally from England. She works from Germany and deals with bookings and correspondence with guests at the DACHSTEINHOF.
Stephanie and Raphael Schmelz are enthusiastic outdoor athletes and have experience in gastronomy. They come from Bavaria in Germany. Since October 2019 they live in the DACHSTEINHOF and are the operators of the Guest House.
Anna Scherer is originally from Freiburg and has lived in the region since 2009, since when she has worked as a receptionist in a Christian guesthouse in Schladming. She has been part of the DACHSTEINHOF team since June 2023, not least because of her friendship with Stephanie and Raphael, but also because hospitality is close to her heart.
The company staff meet up for working weeks and training in Ramsau on a regular basis.
We would be very pleased to welcome clients and business partners from the wood industry to Ramsau.
