Location

Nature and sport are waiting for you directly at our doorstep!

According to an old estate agent’s saying, there are only three significant factors when rating a property: the location, the location and the location. And there are three things which fascinate us at the Dachsteinhof: the beauty of nature, the variety of sports and the peace and quiet.

Great plot

Nature in all directions

At 1140m above sea level, hiking and skiing paths meet directly at the DACHSTEINHOF: In the summer months it is the level Panorama path and the steep Guttenberghaus path which intersect at our house. In the winter months you can find the entrance to the easier cross-country skiing tracks directly on our property, whilst the more challenging alpine ski touring path to Sinabell can be found at the front of the house.

The location of Dachsteinhof has been described by locals as one of the best in Ramsau, because its situation on the southern slopes of the Dachstein range means more sun and less wind.

Peaceful district

Starting point for nature athletes

The Feisterer region is situated at the southern foot of the rugged ascent to the Dachstein range. Like a sun-drenched balcony, it rises approx. 50 metres above the easternmost edge of Ramsau and around 400 metres above Schladming in the Enns Valley. The access road, otherwise known as the Panorama path, is paved and leads to a dead end. You will find no mass tourism here, nor will you hear traffic – instead you will enjoy the fragrance of mountain air and plant life, once you venture out. But all that glitters is not gold: in order to maintain the beautiful nature, you sometimes have to put up with the humming of tractors and lawn-mowers which drown out the buzzing of bees.

Trail and hiking trail at the house

Outdoor sports people are especially stunned by the vastness of the landscape. In Ramsau you will hardly find one house touching the next – the Dachstein region is spacious and expansive.

You reach in 60 min. walk the extraordinary wonder of creation: Silberkarklamm.

Thriving region

Region with culture and infrastructure

The Feisterer area is surrounded by a breathtaking panorama of mountains. In the North is the Dachstein range, in the South the Schladminger Tauern, in the East the Sattelberg and to the West the Kulm and Rittis mountains. The region of Ramsau and Schladming not only offers pure nature, but also infrastructure. On the one hand you can enjoy wonderful peace and seclusion, on the other hand you can profit from a vibrant region within easy reach. The famous TV series „Die Bergretter“ (the mountain rescuers) is set here and there really is a lot more to discover.

The village of Ramsau and the town Schladming, with their wealth of offers for tourists, are just five and twelve minutes drive away respectively from the guest house. Families with children are especially attracted by the vast amount of leisure activities. Discover some of what the region has to offer: summer toboggan run, lakes for bathing, high rope courses, go-carting, cheese factories, nature trails for children, golf, flying fox, adventure paths, mountain go-carting, mountain scooter etc.

Outside the avalanche zone

The Styrian platform features special danger zones for avalanches and mountain creeks. After clicking „Naturgefahren“ and „Gefahrenzonen der Wildbach und Lawinenverbauung“, potential guests can enter our address „Ramsau am Dachstein 271“ and see that the DACHSTEINHOF is situated outside the danger zone. No wonder – between the pension and the mountain are other houses and a forest on a hump, which would redirect possible avalanches.
